Job summary

LUMA Energy in Puerto Rico seeks a senior leader to oversee Transmission, Distribution, and Substation construction programs, guiding multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and field crews to deliver safe, compliant, on-time projects.

You will manage budgets, contracts, change order processes, and quality-control programs, while ensuring adherence to federal and local standards and coordinating with stakeholders to strengthen operational resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field is required.
• 10 years of progressive experience overseeing construction activities, contract/change-management, and quality-control in electric utilities.
• Experience in electric utility construction across Transmission, Distribution and Substation.
• Experience leading union labor or contracted field forces in an electric utility environment.
• Knowledge of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and project governance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities across T&D and Substation projects, including diverse tasks and upgrades.
• Supervise supervisors and field staff, directing work planning, assignments and workforce decisions.
• Drive department operations, optimize workflows, mentor leadership, and align goals with priorities.
• Evaluate quality processes and implement continuous improvements for standards compliance.
• Monitor budgets, contracts, and vendor performance to ensure fiscal alignment and resource availability.
