LUMA Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead engineering projects in Puerto Rico, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring design integrity. The role emphasizes strong technical aptitude, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Requires a PE license in Puerto Rico and eight years of related experience; you will mentor junior staff, review specifications, plan work, and support field crews. Occasional extended hours and storm restoration drills may be required.

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering; eight years’ applicable engineering experience (Master’s adds one year).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Puerto Rico required.

Responsabilités

• Leads and supports projects within scope, schedule, and cost.
• Leads and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive engineering expertise.
• Reviews functional specifications for completeness and consider practical limitations.
• Coordinates of design activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.
• Reviews and authenticate designs.
• Work planning, coordination, budgeting, and cost estimating.
• Develops and update single line diagrams, and design drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Supports material procurement as a subject matter expert.
• Conducts high-level QA/QC design review, close gaps and manage lessons learned.
• Provides technical support to field and construction groups.
• Utilizes, develops, and improves engineering processes and standards.
• Provides reporting, including presentations to work groups and senior management.
• Assists the Supervisor in managing engineering contractors.
• Participates, leads, and represents LUMA actively in industry technical activities.
• Acts as an expert witness or provide expert opinions as required.
• Position may be required to work extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
