Job summary

Smithfield Foods seeks a Sr. Utilities Engineer to optimize and manage refrigeration, boiler and compressed air across facilities. You will design, develop, operate, and optimize systems, troubleshoot, and implement new projects to support efficient manufacturing.

Expect to travel ~50% to sites, ensure safety and compliance, and contribute to regulatory matters while delivering reliable utility performance for brands like Smithfield, Eckrich, Nathan's Famous and more.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years in Ammonia Refrigeration operations.
• RETA CIRO, IIAR2, Garden City Operator II certifications required.
• Strong understanding of industrial refrigeration systems and applications.
• Willingness to travel around 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Support US Fresh and Packaged Meat facilities with capital infrastructure plans.
• Design and implement refrigeration system improvements and equipment standards.
• Plan and budget utilities engineering projects to meet timelines and costs.
• Lead multiple efforts across fields with adherence to proper protocols.
