Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Sr. Utilities Engineer to optimize and manage refrigeration, boiler, and compressed air systems across our facilities. You will troubleshoot, design, and implement improvements, while ensuring compliance and safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 5+ years of related experience in operations, maintenance and optimization of Ammonia Refrigeration systems.
RETA CIRO/ANSI IIAR2 certification or equivalent ammonia training program required.
Deep theoretical understanding of industrial refrigeration systems applicable to this role.
Strong reading, math, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Support US Fresh and Packaged Meat facilities; develop Capital Infrastructure Plans with project engineering teams.
Assist in designing and implementing refrigeration system improvements and standardizing equipment requirements.
Help plan and budget utilities engineering improvement projects; optimize system performance.
Conduct load, charge, and relief calculations; identify and rectify deficiencies while adhering to proper protocols.
