Job summary

City of Boynton Beach is seeking a skilled general trades worker for maintenance and repair of city buildings, equipment, and related facilities within the Utility Department.

Responsibilities include remodeling, carpentry, roofing, electrical, plumbing, painting, welding, and other repairs, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, planning projects, inspecting sites, and using CMMS to track work orders and assets.

Responsibilities

• Perform general remodeling, repair, and maintenance work on city buildings, equipment, and related facilities.
• Carry out skilled, semi-skilled, and manual tasks in building remodeling/renovation, carpentry, roofing, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general repairs.
• Ensure remodeling work, maintenance, and operation comply with laws and regulations.
• Plan and coordinate remodeling projects; inspect buildings and proposed layouts; calculate needed work and materials; schedule and inspect progress.
• Operate a variety of tools and machinery; assist with moving, lifting, and installing equipment and materials.
• Follow safety procedures, maintain equipment, and document work orders and maintenance activities using CMMS.
