Job summary

Canton Municipal Utilities is seeking an experienced Utilities Engineer Manager to lead complex engineering and supervisory activities across electric, gas, wastewater and water projects. You will oversee project plans, budgets, and staff, ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.

The role demands advanced engineering knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with other managers while maintaining project schedules and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of utility experience, including two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience directing others.
• Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 5 years’ experience in Geographical Information System & SCADA.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the preparation of engineering project plans, drawings, specifications, and material invoicing.
• Develops specifications and project planning for utilities including gas, wastewater, water, and electric.
• Manages and oversees department engineering staff; trains and evaluates employees.
• Represents the department in meetings with the Board of Commissioners and prepares project summaries.
