Job summary

GEUS is seeking an engineering leader to manage a team of engineers and provide technical direction for electric utility planning, design, and reliability across distribution, transmission, and substation projects.

You will supervise staff, develop standards, coordinate with regulators and customers, and ensure safe, cost-effective execution of projects while maintaining compliance and high system performance. This senior role demands broad utility experience and strong project management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required; Texas PE license within 6 months preferred.
Minimum six years of electrical engineering experience in electric utilities, with leadership exposure.
Demonstrated leadership in project management, staff development, and cross‑department coordination.
Strong knowledge of NESC/NEC standards, safety rules, and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency with engineering analysis tools and standard PC software.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical subject matter expert and department manager for engineering planning and design.
Lead engineering staff, set priorities, coach performance, and drive process improvements.
Develop and apply standards, criteria, and references for safe, reliable utility work.
Coordinate with other departments, regulators, and customers on projects and requirements.
Assist budget preparation, scope development, cost estimates, and procurement recommendations.
Review work by consultants and vendors to ensure compliance with GEUS standards and schedule.
