Job summary

Legend Biotech is seeking a Senior Manager, US Payroll, to lead end-to-end multi-state payroll for the US. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, Tax, and external vendors to ensure accurate, compliant processing and insightful reporting.

You will manage monthly/bi-weekly payroll, year-end activities, and payroll governance while driving automation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, SOX-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (HR/Finance/Business).
• 8–10+ years in progressive US payroll leadership, multi-state experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end multi-state, bi-weekly payroll processing.
• Oversee off-cycle payments, bonuses, equity, garnishments, and deductions.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and resolve complex issues.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws; SOX controls.
• Maintain payroll governance, controls, and audit readiness.
• Lead year-end activities: W‑2s, tax reporting, filings.
• Partner with auditors and cross-functional teams for audits.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and operational excellence.
• Lead system enhancements, testing, and optimization.
• Provide payroll data, dashboards, and KPI reporting.
• Mentor payroll team and ensure continuity of operations.
• Support acquisitions, reorganizations, and policy changes.
