Job summary

OpenGov seeks a Senior Manager, Payroll to own US payroll end-to-end across jurisdictions. This in-office role leads a payroll team, partners with HR, Accounting, and Legal, and drives automation to scale operations before increasing headcount.

The role requires 8+ years of US payroll experience, deep knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements, and hands-on use of Workday Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance. Office locations include San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, or Boston.

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and deadlines

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end US payroll processing across jurisdictions
• Manage payroll tax compliance and audits with federal/state/local authorities
• Partner with HR and Accounting on benefit deductions and RSU tax
• Oversee payroll general ledger reconciliations and month-end close
• Design and maintain payroll controls and automation
• Supervise the lead payroll specialist
