Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced design engineer to join the Urban Mobility team in the North Central/Minnesota region. You will lead roadway design projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary group to deliver transportation solutions for communities across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and beyond.

The ideal candidate brings multi-modal transportation focus, strong CADD skills, and a PE license in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in roadway design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Minnesota.
• Proficient with MicroStation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design projects for cities, counties, and state DOTs.
• Collaborate with local offices and greater Stantec to provide support.
• Stay abreast of market trends and client concerns and develop responsive solutions.
• Mentor and manage design technicians and EITs.
• Prepare design concepts, Preliminary Geometric Layouts and Final Design construction plan sets.
• Perform CADD design of roadways per DOT, county, and local practices.
• Create 3D corridor models in MicroStation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare transportation reports including design memos and feasibility reports.
• Prepare project cost estimates and specifications.
• Review shop drawings and RFIs; prepare site observation reports.
• Lead project teams and grow client relationships.
• Travel as required; valid driver's license.
