Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced design engineer to join our Urban Mobility team in the North Central region. You will lead and contribute to multi‑disciplinary projects across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and beyond, delivering quality transportation designs and mentoring staff.

You will collaborate with local offices and a global network, applying innovative solutions for urban corridors, roundabouts, bikeways, and safety improvements while managing scope and budget.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of roadway design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota.
• Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of roadway design projects for cities, counties, and state DOTs.
• Collaborate with staff from local offices and Stantec network for support and expertise.
• Stay abreast of market trends and client concerns to develop responsive solutions.
• Support an energetic, collaborative team culture that drives results.
• Prepare design concepts, preliminary layouts, and final design construction plan sets.
• Perform CADD design of roadways per state/local practices using MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare transportation reports, cost estimates and specifications.
• Mentor design staff and supervise junior team members.
