Xiphos Partners, Inc. is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead automated testing for the JTAC Virtual Trainer (JVT) Unity-based VR platform. You will own testing across simulation builds, collaborating with developers and military end users on mission-critical training systems.

This remote 1099 contract role offers flexible arrangements and requires deep experience with Unity, C#, Python, and CI/CD in defense-oriented environments.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer.
• 3+ years of experience in defense, aerospace, or DoD simulation environments.
• Deep experience with Unity, including the Unity Test Framework, automated scene testing, and simulation-specific behaviors.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in C# (Unity) and Python (test automation harnesses or CI pipelines).
• Familiarity with simulation networking protocols (e.g., DIS, HLA).
• Hands-on experience testing VR systems.

Aufgaben

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks for Unity-based simulation applications, including VR environments.
• Develop and execute Play Mode, Edit Mode, and integration tests using the Unity Test Framework (UTF) and NUnit.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or TeamCity.
• Perform performance, load, and regression testing on Unity VR builds, ensuring consistent behavior across hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with software engineers, simulation architects, and subject matter experts to define test plans for flight paths, ordnance behavior, tactical systems, and sensor simulation.
• Document and manage test cases, traceability matrices, and defect reports using tools such as TestRail, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure software quality.
• Occasionally support prototype demonstrations and training events with military end users as part of a collaborative design and development process.
