Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Senior Underwriting Assistant / Underwriting Operations Specialist for a remote U.S. role.

This position provides exposure to underwriting operations, broker interaction, submission analysis, and account management support beyond traditional processing. The role emphasizes strategic involvement within underwriting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to collaborate across a growing E&S

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial insurance underwriting support experience.
• E&S experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with submissions, loss analysis, underwriting documentation, and broker communications.

Responsibilities

• Review new business submissions for completeness and identify information needed for underwriting review.
• Partner with brokers and underwriters to obtain exposure data and account details.
• Analyze loss runs, exposure information, and documentation to support risk assessment.
• Investigate insured operations to ensure accurate underwriting file setup and documentation.
• Maintain underwriting files and data integrity within policy systems.
• Track quotes, binders, renewals, and other underwriting metrics.
• Assist with workflow management and follow-up across active accounts.
• Serve as liaison between underwriting, operations, and distribution partners.
• Support process improvements and operational enhancements within underwriting.
