The ideal candidate has 2+ years in underwriting support within commercial insurance, strong data entry and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with underwriters, brokers, and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years as an Underwriting Assistant or similar in commercial insurance.
• Experience with E&S segment is highly desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with underwriting systems a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support E&S Underwriters in review, analysis, and processing of submissions for new and renewal commercial policies.
• Enter policy data accurately into underwriting systems per guidelines.
• Prepare and compile underwriting information, policy documents, and endorsements.
• Communicate with stakeholders, brokers, and agents to clarify details.
• Monitor and manage submission process and act as point of contact for client updates.
• Conduct market research and data collection to assist pricing and risk analysis.
• Maintain records of underwriting decisions per company policies.
• Contribute to team projects to improve workflows and processes.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Education and Experience:

• Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of underwriting principles and processes in commercial insurance (E&S experience is highly desirable).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with underwriting or policy administration systems is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
