Qualifications

• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
• Minimum 10 years progressive underwriting experience, including at least 2 years in underwriting management.
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Loss Sensitive Primary Casualty Underwriters.
• Drive underwriting excellence through disciplined risk selection, pricing adequacy, exposure analysis, terms and conditions, and compliance with underwriting authority.
• Communicate and execute underwriting strategy, including risk appetite, portfolio priorities, broker engagement, profitability objectives, and risk-adjusted growth.
• Own the performance of all or part of the retail loss sensitive casualty portfolio, including profitability, rate adequacy, retention, new business, premium, exposure quality, and portfolio concentration.
