Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking an experienced Middle Market Senior Underwriter to assess and price commercial property and casualty risks in the middle market. This in-person role requires building strong broker relationships and guiding a portfolio with data-driven decisions to ensure profitability.

You will work with internal partners to structure terms, mentor junior staff, and contribute to portfolio strategy while operating within delegated authority in New York state.

Qualifications

• 2.5+ years of progressive underwriting experience (3+ preferred).
• CPCU or professional designation preferred.
• Ability to evaluate and manage complex underwriting risks.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite middle market commercial accounts within delegated authority and set terms/pricing.
• Make independent, data-driven risk and pricing decisions.
• Coordinate referrals for accounts above authority or requiring specialty support.
• Manage brokers/agents/insureds; grow market share and relationships.
• Mentor and coach junior underwriters on practices and Liberty processes.
• Collaborate with internal partners (Claims, Actuarial, Risk Control, Legal).
