Job summary

Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. seeks an experienced underwriter to autonomously manage a broker and client portfolio, pricing risk with data-driven methods and strong market presence. You will mentor others and collaborate across departments to drive profitability and process excellence.

You will influence final underwriting decisions, maintain regulatory awareness, and lead initiatives with cross-functional teams to deliver superior outcomes for complex and larger policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
• 7+ years of progressive underwriting experience, typically 10+ years or more.
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses and information to others in underwriting or training contexts.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to define and implement underwriting and administrative processes/workflows for complex issues.
• Proven track record of developing and underwriting profitable business.

Responsibilities

• Manages portfolio of brokers/agents & clients, developing profitable business.
• Underwrites policies within authority and makes data-driven pricing decisions.
