Job summary

Old Republic is seeking a Senior Underwriting Analyst to support its Excess Casualty underwriting team. The role focuses on analytical, operational, and administrative support, evaluating new and renewal opportunities, and maintaining underwriting data accuracy.

The ideal candidate will analyze exposure data and assist with pricing indications, portfolio reports, and cross-functional collaboration with brokers, claims, and operations. Hybrid schedule in Yardley, PA or remote.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience.
• 5-7 years of casualty insurance experience with underwriting support, account analysis, policy review, or broker interaction.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools and collaboration platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication for underwriters, brokers, and management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.
• Strong analytical thinking, data interpretation, and reporting skills.
• Ownership, accountability, and time management in deliverables.
• Teamwork, problem-solving, and customer service orientation across departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist underwriters with evaluation of new and renewal Excess Casualty submissions.
• Review primary and excess/umbrella policies for completeness and consistency.
• Prepare account summaries, loss analyses, and underwriting presentations.
• Gather and analyze exposure, financial, and loss data to support decisions.
• Support pricing indications using underwriting tools and models.
• Prepare risk and portfolio reports for underwriters and management.
• Generate ad hoc reports for business planning and strategy.
• Monitor data quality and ensure SharePoint/Guidewire accuracy.
• Assist with internal audits, compliance reviews, and performance reporting.
• Serve as a primary contact for brokers and internal clients on submissions.
• Coordinate with brokers, underwriters, claims, and operations teams for timely processing.
• Maintain underwriting files and documentation per guidelines.
• Support policy issuance, binding, and endorsements.
• Participate in underwriting projects and system enhancements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and company procedures.
