Job summary

AIG is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Representations and Warranties within M&A Financial Lines in the New York area. You will structure, underwrite and negotiate transactional insurance solutions, focusing on reps and warranties coverage and related deal documentation.

You will build relationships with brokers and lawyers, participate in marketing efforts, and guide the underwriting process from due diligence to policy binding. A strong background in M&A risk and negotiation is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in M&A legal, underwriting, corporate finance or another relevant business.
• Strong negotiating skills.
• Understanding of transactional legal exposures (warranty breaches, tax structuring, litigation).
• Understanding of financial statements and due diligence materials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct background research on transaction parties and industries.
• Review client motivation and value of insurance in the deal.
• Assess agreements and documentation relevant to risk analysis.
• Analyze risk per product line policies and procedures.
• Prepare and negotiate non-binding indications, policies and binder agreements.
• Interact with clients, brokers and deal professionals.
• Lead underwriting conference calls and manage the process with outside counsel.
