Job summary

AIG is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Representations and Warranties - M&A Financial Lines to protect clients and grow the business. The role centers on technical underwriting of R&W transactions, analyzing deal documents and due diligence, and building relationships with M&A brokers, lawyers, PE fund principals, and corporate professionals.

The Senior Underwriter will structure, underwrite and negotiate transactional insurance solutions, focusing on representations and warranties.

Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication; drafting of legal and commercial documents.
• Detailed understanding of complex corporate structuring and financing.
• Ability to negotiate with sophisticated advisors, brokers and clients.
• Ability to manage a complex underwriting process and risk assessment.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Global collaboration across offices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct background research on transaction parties and industries.
• Review and understand the client’s motivation and the deal documents.
• Analyze risk in line with product line policies and procedures.
• Prepare and negotiate indication letters, policies and binder agreements.
• Lead underwriting conference calls.
• Manage the underwriting process and outside counsel and other advisors.
• Present preliminary findings to management.
• Support marketing and development of transactional insurance products.
• Develop presentation and marketing materials.
• Refine the suite of transactional insurance products offered to clients.
