National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa. in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Underwriter to focus on underwriting new and renewal Primary Casualty business. You will assess risk, set a high service standard for brokers, and mentor junior underwriters while expanding broker networks.

You will price loss sensitive and guaranteed cost programs, collaborate across teams, and build profitable portfolios with strong broker relationships.

Formación

• Minimum of 7 years experience underwriting Primary Casualty business.
• CPCU, ARM, or other insurance designations are a plus.
• Proven experience and expertise in underwriting Loss Sensitive and Guaranteed Cost program structures.
• Established relationships with Midwest brokers handling Primary Casualty/Upper Middle Market business.
• Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently within a fast-paced, team-oriented working environment.
• Customer and Sales oriented behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, communication, and business development skills.
• Strong Analytical and quantitative skills; familiarity with actuarial data and pricing models.
• Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business.

Responsabilidades

• Assess/analyze desirability of risk by identifying hazards and exposures for new and renewal business.
• Set a high standard of customer service to brokers and clients.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and training to less-experienced underwriters.
• Develop and maintain broker networks to generate new business.
• Underwrite and price loss sensitive and guaranteed cost business for Workers Comp, General Liability, and Commercial Auto Liability.
• Collaborate with brokers to communicate risk appetite and deal structures.
• Work with home office, distribution, actuary, claims, and other teams to maintain a profitable portfolio.
