Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Brokerage Casualty (E&S/Specialty) to assess risk, determine pricing and terms for Primary Casualty, and support broker relationships. The role emphasizes analytical and strategic decision making in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of underwriting experience, preferably in excess & surplus lines, and a background in complex risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of underwriting policies, practices and procedures.
• Ability to analyze insurance risks to determine acceptability.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Reviews risks with brokers and decides to accept or decline.
• Works to meet production and loss ratio goals with brokers.
• Processes endorsements, changes, and reviews loss control reports.
