Job summary

Sompo in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Underwriter for the Commercial Management Liability team. You will underwrite and grow a profitable Management Liability book across the San Francisco/Pacific Northwest region, working with brokers and clients on D&O, Fiduciary, Crime and EPL coverages.

You'll collaborate with actuarial and claims, monitor portfolio performance, and develop marketing plans to win new business.

Qualifications

3+ years of underwriting experience; 5+ years in underwriting/insurance preferred.
Management liability underwriting background including D&O, Fiduciary, Crime and EPL.
Experience underwriting all sizes of accounts with large brokerages and wholesalers.
Strong analytical, marketing, and communication skills.
Established relationships with brokers and customers.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a profitable Management Liability portfolio in the SF/Pacific Northwest region.
Identify and build a pipeline of new business opportunities with clients.
Develop and execute a marketing plan for each producer/territory.
Underwrite according to guidelines and authority.
Collaborate with actuarial and claims on pricing and underwriting.
Monitor portfolio retention, growth and profitability.
Create marketing materials to support new production initiatives.
Participate in national and regional industry events.
Monitor industry trends through trusted sources.
Uphold a field service reputation as an industry leader.
