Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced Underground Transmission Line Engineer to lead design teams and deliver complex projects up to 500 kV. You will oversee duct bank layouts, manhole placement, cable selection, and performance analyses while coordinating with vendors and clients.

This hybrid role offers three days in the office and two remote days, with a relocation package available for eligible candidates and a strong emphasis on safety, code compliance, and data-driven

Qualifications

• Requires BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proficiency with engineering calculations and data analysis.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318).

Responsibilities

• Lead design team in development of complex underground transmission projects.
• Perform cost analyses and develop design criteria, siting and routing.
• Develop duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, and manhole placements.
• Specify cable procurement, installation methods, and construction specifications.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients to define components and standards.
• Direct project team of engineers, designers and drafters.
