Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior project engineer to manage underground transmission line projects, coordinating with multiple departments to oversee execution through lifecycle, including safety, schedule, and budget.

Based in a hybrid schedule with in-office work 3 days per week, the role requires a BS from ABET-accredited program, extensive design leadership, and client liaison experience. The company offers award-winning benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Requires BS in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Knowledge of CYMCAP modeling.
• Knowledge of cable tensioning calculations and software.
• Knowledge of XLPE cable design.
• 10+ years leading a design team on complex underground transmission projects.
• Experience in cost estimate development and schedule coordination.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models.
• Experience with serving as a firm/client liaison in a leadership role.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for project execution, contract administration, planning and resource management.
• Take ownership for all aspects of project performance including technical, safety, schedule, budget, reporting and client experience through entire project lifecycle.
• Manage and direct the project team to ensure accountability. Mentor and coach team members.
• Provide technical reviews when necessary.
• Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with client functional leads and stakeholders.
• Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed safely, satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
• Support the reporting of key performance indicators for schedule, budget and other dashboard items.
• Identify and control construction risk.
• Recognize, identify, track and control change.
• Communicate and consult with appropriate stakeholders and supervisors.
• Prepare reports in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements.
• Analyze issues and provide solutions to improve results.
