Job summary

Northern Star Resources is seeking a Senior Safety & Training Coordinator for our Pogo operation in Alaska. The role ensures training and safety procedures meet MSHA standards and corporate requirements, while implementing a skills-base program for the Mining Department to maintain a safe, productive operation.

The position reports to the Project Manager and requires managing a broad training portfolio, overseeing inductions, assessments, and continuous improvement, with a 21-days-on/21-days-off

Qualifications

• Blue Card certified (Underground) required.
• Current Driver’s License required.
• Experience in safety training and policy development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain procedural systems, processes and training for underground mining operations.
• Induct and train personnel, ensure awareness of site rules and critical procedures.
• Promote and enforce compliance with safe work practices.
• Conduct incident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Lead risk assessments and site inspections to ensure safe operations.
• Maintain training records and oversee job hazard analyses.
