Job summary

Northern Star Resources is seeking a Senior Safety & Training Coordinator for the Pogo operation in Alaska on a rotational camp schedule. The role focuses on ensuring mining training and safety procedures align with MSHA standards and corporate requirements, while implementing a robust skills-based program for the Mining Department.

The successful candidate will manage training records, lead safety meetings, and drive continuous improvement in safety practices across underground operations.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act & Regulations.
• Experience in incident investigation and reporting.
• Demonstrated competency-based training design and delivery to crews.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain training and procedures for underground mining operations per MSHA requirements.
• Induct and train personnel; ensure awareness of workplace rules and critical procedures.
• Facilitate incident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Lead formal risk assessment processes and participate in safety meetings.
• Maintain accurate training records and inductions; manage training registry.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies and MSHA.
