Job summary

United Utility Services is seeking an experienced Lineman Foreman to lead crews in safe, efficient overhead and underground distribution construction and maintenance. You will plan work, manage manpower and equipment, and ensure quality results.

Travel to storm sites may be required; must have 7+ years HV experience and a valid CDL-A. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered in a full-time role with Texas assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 7 years' experience working on energized high-voltage lines.
• CDL-A license with clear driving record.
• Ability to read manuals, policies, blueprints and maps.
• Strong planning, organizational and delegation skills.
• Good mathematical skills for calculations.
• Ability to handle emergencies, multiple priorities and time constraints.
• Clear communication to relay expectations and goals.
• Leadership to train assigned personnel safely and effectively.
• Proficiency in English (oral and written).
• Dependable and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to crews to ensure safe, efficient, and quality operations.
• Overhead/underground distribution construction, maintenance, and switching experience.
• Install, troubleshoot, replace underground equipment such as padmount transformers and switchgear.
• Plan work including manpower, equipment, and material needs; develop look-ahead schedules.
• Ensure work progresses safely; meet specifications and schedule.
• Utilize tools and materials properly; maintain order and security.
• Collaborate with foremen, crew, and customers for problem solving and scheduling.
• Assist crew members with construction activities using hand tools.
• Ensure timely repairs to equipment to reduce delays and costs.
• Provide on-the-job training and development for crew members.
• Support General Foreman/Project Managers to meet company goals.
• Suggest personnel actions and recruit qualified applicants.
• Adhere to company policies and maintain positive relationships with customers.
