Job summary

United Utility Services is hiring a full-time crew supervisor in Canton, MS. The role leads overhead and underground distribution crews, plans work, and ensures safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Travel for storm response is required, with comprehensive safety training and strong leadership expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years' experience working on and around energized high-voltage primary electric lines
• Valid CDL-A license with clear driving record
• Ability to read and understand technical information, manuals, policies, procedures, work orders, blueprints, maps and diagrams
• Strong planning/organizational skills and ability to delegate work to schedule crews
• Good mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts
• Ability to handle emergencies, hazardous conditions, multiple priorities and time constraints
• Strong communication skills to relay expectations and company goals to crew members
• Leadership skills to train and guide assigned personnel in a safe, effective manner

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to crews to ensure safe, efficient, and quality operations.
• Thorough knowledge of overhead and underground distribution construction, maintenance, troubleshooting and operations including extensive switching experience.
• Plan work including manpower, equipment and material needs, and develop look-ahead schedules.
• Ensure progress, equipment, and sites are safe and on schedule.
• Ensure tools and materials are used, cared for, and secured daily.
• Coordinate with foreman, crew, and customers to optimize technology and methods.
• Provide on-the-job training and development for crew members.
• Support foreman/project managers to meet company goals and objectives.
• Assist with recruitment and classification of personnel based on skills.
• Adhere to company policies and maintain professional relationships with customers.
• Ensure inspections and paperwork such as job safety analyses, logs, and timesheets are completed.
• Inspect tools and equipment regularly to ensure safe operation
