Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida seeks an experienced Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging in outpatient and inpatient settings, including abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology and vascular exams.

You will assist in complex procedures, interpret sonograms with independent judgment, ensure safety and quality, and mentor staff. This full-time role involves 10-hour days, varied start times, and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program or ARDMS registry eligibility.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• ARDMS registered or eligible in abdomen, OB/GYN and RVT.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously performs advanced diagnostic ultrasound imaging for outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Assists in complex invasive procedures and intraoperative cases with a team approach.
• Interprets sonograms, communicates preliminary clinical diagnoses to physicians.
• Ensures imaging orders are accurate and tailors exams to patient needs.
• Maintains sterile technique and safety precautions; supports QA and equipment maintenance.
• Participates in research, teaches students and staff, and adapts to flexible locations and shifts.
