Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Product Engineer III to sustain engineering support for UAV systems, including design modifications of structural components, electro-mechanical assemblies, payloads, ground equipment, launching systems, and prototype hardware. You will develop manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and support design reviews while assisting project managers with planning.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, Lean Six Sigma experience, and 5–8 years in engineering design with production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required or equivalent experience.
• Lean Six Sigma experience or Green Belt certification.
• 5–8 years in engineering design with production support.
• Experience with UAVs, RF, digital and communications electronics design.
• Strong configuration management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with office software and productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Sustain engineering support related to a product line.
• Manage product line configuration and change orders in Agile PLM.
• Understand product design and manufacturing processes and customer requirements.
• Act as technical POC for support and change initiation with suppliers and customers.
• Assist in proposal and report writing, review production contracts.
• Coordinate transition of new products into production and update documentation.
• Coordinate development, testing and release of product improvements with teams.
• Provide obsolescence management and customer support for failures.
• Work with purchasing and planning to resolve technical production issues.
