Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Sr. Product Engineer to lead sustaining engineering for UAV systems, including design modifications, tooling, and production support. You will manage BOMs, fost er execution with suppliers, and drive product improvements across engineering and project teams.

The role emphasizes transitioning new products to production, coordinating with program management, and ensuring successful change implementation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Lean Six Sigma experience or Green Belt certification.
• 8–12 years of related engineering design and production support.
• Experience with UAVs, RF, digital and communications electronics; CAD drafting.
• Experience with configuration management principles.
• Strong engineering fundamentals in math, physics, materials and systems.
• Capable of coordinating across teams including production and suppliers.
• Proficient with office software and productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Manages product line configuration in Oracle PLM.
• Understands product design and manufacturing processes.
• Acts as technical point of contact for ongoing support and changes.
• Supports proposal and contract review for production orders.
• Leads transition of new products and variants to production.
• Releases engineering docs, manuals, BOMs, procedures and tooling.
• Leads product improvements with PMs and design engineers.
• Provides obsolescence management for the product line.
• Offers customer support for failure analysis and field content.
• Collaborates with suppliers, planning and purchasing to resolve issues.
