Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Product Engineer II to sustain engineering support for UAV systems and commercial applications. The work includes design modifications to structural components, electro-mechanical assemblies, payloads, ground equipment, launching systems, and flight control actuators.

You will develop prototypes, perform design verification testing, and manage product configuration using industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination.
• Lean Six Sigma experience or Green Belt certification.
• 2-5 years in engineering design and production support.
• Experience with UAVs, RF, digital and comms electronics design.
• PCB layout, schematics and CAD (Altium); ASME Y14 standards.
• Strong configuration management fundamentals.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Sustain engineering support for a product line.
• Manage product configuration and change orders in Agile PLM.
• Understand product design and manufacturing processes; align with customer requirements.
• Act as technical contact for ongoing support and changes.
• Assist in proposals, reports, and contract reviews for production orders.
• Coordinate transition of new products into production.
• Release engineering docs, BOMs, procedures, and test equipment.
• Support development, testing and release of product improvements.
