Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, develop and maintain electrical control systems for unmanned aircraft. You will select components based on specifications, perform detailed design, documentation and testing of electronic and mechanical subsystems.

Responsibilities include coordinating with avionics, RF links and flight-test operations, and leading a small team on projects. A Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering is required with 8–12 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Knowledge of LVDS/I2C/HDMI/UART/SPI/CAN/USB protocols.
• Experience in RF, embedded control, FPGA, and power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Operates CAD/engineering tools to perform tasks.
• Performs electronic engineering support on R&D projects.
• Coordinates manufacturing, installation, testing to ensure compliance with specs.
• Inspects installations and ensures safety standards.
• Works with avionics, embedded systems and RF links.
• Supports flight test operations as needed.
• Troubleshoots complex systems; documents designs with drawings.
