Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and maintain electrical control systems for unmanned aircraft.

You will select components, perform detailed design, documentation, and testing of electronic and mechanical subsystems, ensuring safety, reliability, and sustainability. The role involves collaborating with avionics, embedded systems, and RF teams, supporting flight test operations, and leading small teams on key projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent
• Experience with HDL programming is preferred
• Familiarity with UAV subsystems and related software is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Operate CAD/engineering tools to perform electronic system design and analysis
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure design compliance with specs and safety standards
• Inspect installations and observe operations for design conformance to requirements
• Support Flight Test operations and related RF/avionics activities
• Troubleshoot complex systems and document designs with drawings and descriptions
• Perform design and analysis tasks under supervision, estimating costs where applicable
• Propose alternate solutions to issues to improve reliability and sustainability
• Make complex design decisions to meet requirements and manage project impact
