Job summary

Insitu, a Boeing company, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to define concepts of operations, lead requirements development, and orchestrate integration across unmanned aircraft systems. You will drive architectures, traceability, and verification across multiple engineering disciplines through the full product lifecycle.

The role focuses on aligning technical execution with schedule and program objectives, collaborating with customers and stakeholders to shape requirements and ensure performance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline with 9+ years in an engineering role; or
• Master’s degree with 7+ years in engineering.
• Extensive technical expertise with systems engineering principles.
• Strong analytical skills for requirements analysis and system performance assessments.
• Experience across aerospace disciplines, air vehicle design, certification and performance.
• Ability to establish test requirements and verification strategies.
• Hands-on flight test experience and reporting.
• Proven ability to lead integration activities across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Define concepts of operations to guide architecture, design, integration and verification.
• Lead requirements decomposition to ensure completeness and feasibility.
• Review and approve system diagrams and interface definitions between elements.
• Establish traceability standards across vertical and horizontal levels.
• Validate verification methodologies and QA standards for system and subsystem verification.
• Define and maintain system architectures and map functions to design.
• Lead cross-disciplinary integration activities for coherent system behavior.
• Apply SE techniques across full lifecycle from concept to evaluation.
• Shape customer requirements and operational expectations into actionable system requirements.
• Coordinate with program teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
