Job summary

Insitu’s Systems Engineering team is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to shape the operations concepts, drive requirements decomposition, and orchestrate integration and verification across complex UAS platforms. The role requires a strong background in systems engineering across aerospace disciplines, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performing solutions.

Hybrid work is available, with a preference for on-site collaboration three days a week, relocation assistance

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry with 9+ years in engineering, or 7+ years with a Master’s degree.
• Extensive technical expertise with systems engineering principles and practices.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to perform requirements analysis, trade studies, and system performance assessments.

Responsibilities

• Define systems concepts of operations to guide architecture, design, integration, and verification activities.
• Evaluate requirements decomposition for completeness, consistency, and feasibility.
• Review and approve functional and physical block diagrams and interface definitions.
• Establish and maintain traceability standards for system requirements.
• Validate verification methodologies and set quality assurance standards for system and subsystem verification.
• Define and maintain system architectures.
• Lead integration activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Apply systems engineering across full product lifecycle from concept to test and evaluation.
• Ensure alignment of technical execution with schedule and program objectives.
• Translate customer requirements into actionable system requirements.
• Interact with senior external personnel and customers on significant technical matters.
