Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Torrance, CA, is seeking a Principal Engineer to shape turbomachinery strategy, lead advanced design and analysis, and drive reliability across products. You will mentor engineers, manage projects from concept to completion, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to optimize performance and ensure quality.

This role reports to the Engineering Manager in Torrance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of turbomachinery design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials.
• Proficiency in ANSYS or MATLAB for design and analysis.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead turbomachinery projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and testing to integrate turbomachinery systems.
• Perform technical assessments and provide solutions for complex engineering challenges in turbomachinery systems.
• Facilitate design reviews, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster technical development within the team.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
