Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Principal Project Engineer to lead propulsion-related programs, overseeing design, integration, and testing of gas turbine engines and nacelle systems. You will guide a multi‑disciplinary team, manage scope, schedule, and budgets, and engage with customers and OEM partners.

The role requires a decade of relevant experience, a technical degree, and expertise in project controls, scheduling, and EVMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics).
• Minimum 10 years in design, development, and/or test of gas turbine engines, nacelle systems, or related mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with project management tools and methods (e.g., Microsoft Project, Agile Scrum/Kanban, Earned Value Management).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a sustaining engineering team for production support, fleet reliability, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee planning, prioritization, and execution of projects to meet performance, schedule, and cost targets.
• Drive cross‑functional coordination to resolve issues across design, analysis, test, manufacturing, and field operations.
• Partner with aircraft OEMs to define requirements and maintain program alignment.
• Collaborate with suppliers on deliverables, quality assurance, and schedule recovery; support design improvements.
• Lead root‑cause investigations for field reliability and production escapes; implement corrective actions.
• Own cost accounts and manage budgets, forecasts, resource fill rates, and earned value performance.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Communicate status, risks, and recovery plans to leadership and customers; support formal reviews.
