Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced turbomachinery engineer to lead the design, development, production, assembly, and testing of turbomachinery components. You will own hardware across the lifecycle, from research to flight, and drive corrective actions for non-conforming parts.

Ideal candidates bring a strong background in rotating machinery, thermodynamics, and rotor dynamics, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers within a safety-focused aerospace

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 8+ years in design, development, testing, production or assembly of turbomachinery components.
• Solid understanding of rotating machinery mechanical design fundamentals.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 and GD&T for complex rotating assemblies.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials and fabrication processes.
• Strong turbomachinery thermodynamic and aerodynamic design concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on design, development, production, assembly and testing of turbomachinery components.
• Own turbomachinery hardware across the product lifecycle from research to flight.
• Provide dispositions for non-conforming hardware in manufacturing and assembly.
• Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for continuous improvement.
• Conduct turbomachinery analyses (thermal, structural, rotordynamics) and collaborate with aerodynamics.
• Mentor design and manufacturing teammates in a collaborative environment.
