Job summary

Air Products' Rotoflow division in Bethlehem, PA seeks a Senior Turbomachinery Aerodynamic Engineer to deliver advanced aerodynamic designs for turboexpanders and centrifugal compressors across the equipment lifecycle in a hybrid work setting.

You will apply CFD and 1D/2D/3D methods, develop analysis tools, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and support testing, field startup, and optimization for high‑efficiency, reliable turbomachinery solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of turbomachinery aerodynamic design experience.
• Experience with CFD-based aerodynamic analysis and 1D/2D/3D methods.
• Experience with turbomachinery testing and data analysis.
• Advanced degree preferred but not required.
• Experience with AxCent/ANSYS or similar tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform aerodynamic design activities for customer projects, including flowpath optimization of impellers, vanes, centrifugal compressors, turboexpanders, and related rotating equipment to improve efficiency and performance.
• Perform preliminary aerodynamic sizing and performance calculations during the proposal phase, then refine analyses through final equipment definition and project execution.
• Apply CFD and 1D/2D/3D methods for design and performance prediction.
• Develop and improve aerodynamic engineering tools, sizing methods, performance prediction models, and workflows.
• Collaborate with aerodynamic, simulation, product, proposals, process, and manufacturing engineers, and external software providers.
