Job summary

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. seeks a Senior Turbomachinery Aerodynamic Design Engineer for the Rotoflow business in Bethlehem, PA. You will deliver advanced aerodynamic designs, performance predictions, and tool improvements for turboexpanders and related rotating equipment.

You will engage across the lifecycle from proposal development to testing, commissioning, and root-cause analysis, applying CFD, 1D/2D/3D methods and developing new analysis tools with a team of engineers.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years in turbomachinery aerodynamic design.
• Experience with flowpath components (impellers, vanes, compressors, turboexpanders).
• CFD-based aerodynamic analysis using 1D/2D/3D methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform aerodynamic design activities for customer projects to improve efficiency and range.
• Conduct preliminary sizing and performance calculations during proposals then refine in execution.
• Apply CFD and 1D/2D/3D methods for performance predictions.
• Develop and improve aerodynamic engineering tools and workflows for accuracy and productivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including external software providers.
• Share best practices to ensure consistency in high-efficiency designs.
