Job summary

Air Products's Rotoflow unit in Bethlehem, PA seeks a Senior Turbomachinery Aerodynamic Design Engineer. You will deliver advanced aerodynamic designs for turboexpanders and centrifugal compressors, perform sizing and CFD-based analyses, and contribute to tool development across the full equipment lifecycle.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers across disciplines, development of high-efficiency designs, and a hybrid work arrangement with limited travel.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of turbomachinery aerodynamic design experience.
• Experience with CFD-based aerodynamic analysis tools.
• Experience with 1D/2D/3D aerodynamic methods.
• Experience with turbomachinery testing and data analysis.
• Advanced degree preferred but not required.
• Experience with AxCent or similar tools preferred.
• Programming in Python/MATLAB/C/C++ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform aerodynamic design activities for awarded projects, optimizing flowpath components.
• Conduct preliminary sizing and performance calculations during proposals, refine in execution.
• Apply CFD and 1D/2D/3D methods for performance predictions.
• Develop and improve aerodynamic tools, methods, and workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines and with external software partners.
• Support testing, data analysis, field startup, and root-cause analysis.
