Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring an automotive/truck technician to repair newer cargo vans and box trucks at our Budget Truck operations. You will diagnose engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and onboard computers, mentoring colleagues and performing warranty work as needed.

Requirements include 3+ years experience, ASE certifications (3+), a complete tool set, ability to lift 50 lbs, and on-site presence.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C).
• Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive or truck repair experience.
• Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3), with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Strong knowledge across ASE areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
• Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and truck repair and maintenance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance.
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on newer cargo vans and box trucks with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, exhaust, brakes, electrical, A/C, and onboard computer systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other technicians and support diagnostics and repair strategies.
• May drive Budget Trucks on public roads for testing, repair verification, or transport needs to ensure fleet uptime.
