Job summary

Johnson Controls in Metairie, LA is seeking an HVAC Truck Based Controls Service Engineer to design, configure and service complete building control systems and related low voltage subsystems. You will develop software, validate system functionality and collaborate with field teams to deliver high-quality service and commissioning.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 8 years' experience in HVAC or building automation, plus knowledge of control theory and industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or minimum 8 years' experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or service, or HVAC industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
• Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (e.g., LON, BACnet).
• Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
• Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools.

Responsibilities

• Designs, configures and services building control systems for customer facilities.
• Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts and schematics.
• Develops software programs necessary to operate the system per facility requirements.
• Coordinates drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Assists in loading and commissioning of controllers and validates system functionality.
