Job summary

Terracon is seeking a seasoned field tester/inspector to perform testing, observation, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel at construction sites. You will document findings, prepare reports, and coordinate with project managers and client representatives, ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires strong communication and mentoring of junior technicians, with readiness to travel and support multiple project sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 5–10 years of relevant field experience.
• Experience with field testing, observation, and reporting.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% for extended periods.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to prepare reports.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Performs field testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials.
• Communicates findings to Project Manager, client, and site personnel.
• Prepares written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintains and cleans equipment and work areas; supports scheduling of technicians.
• Adheres to strict safety standards and quality control requirements.
