Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of transportation projects across the firm. The role involves ORD-based roadway design, technical reports, modeling, and plan production in a collaborative, multi-office environment.

Fully remote candidates will be considered, with a preference for a hybrid arrangement based in Fairfax, VA. Travel may be required by project needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
8+ years of transportation infrastructure design experience.
PE license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Lead or support technical design for diverse transportation projects (highways, interchanges, tollways, transit corridors).
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative, cost-effective design solutions.
Serve as liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Develop and review plans, specs, estimates, and design reports using ORD.
Participate in proposals, design-build pursuits, and technical presentations.
Mentor junior engineers and support career development.
Ensure quality control and compliance with standards and client requirements.
Stay informed about industry trends and alternative delivery methods.
