Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the design and delivery of transportation projects across the firm. You will work with experienced engineers and PMs on varied delivery types, preparing roadway plans with ORD and contributing to reports, modeling and plan production.

Fully remote candidates are considered, though a Fairfax, VA-based hybrid arrangement is preferred. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Eight (8) or more years of transportation infrastructure design experience.
• Active PE license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for roadway design and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support technical design on transportation projects, including highways and interchanges.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices on design solutions.
• Serve as liaison between teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates and design reports using ORD.
• Participate in proposals, design-build pursuits and presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support career development.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Stay informed about industry trends and alternative delivery methods.
