Job summary

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. in Utah is seeking a full-time Project Engineer in the Transportation unit. The position requires 5+ years of experience and involves assisting and leading project teams, developing engineering solutions, and delivering a thorough end product.

You will perform transportation analyses, prepare reports, and contribute to PS&E development for municipal, county, and state agencies. A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required; PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred).
• Ability to lead, manage and schedule staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Utah DoT and local municipalities (preferred).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Proficient in MicroStation with OpenRoadsDesigner/Geopak or AutoCAD with Civil 3D.
• Valid driver's license.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assigned high-responsibility tasks on project teams.
• Resolve engineering problems with guidance from senior staff.
• Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations.
• Prepare and write engineering reports.
• Work as part of a team on municipal, county, and state projects.
• Assist in preparing reports and feasibility studies.
• Develop engineering plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
