Job summary
RK&K is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to lead highway and multi-modal design projects in Virginia, with opportunities to mentor engineers and coordinate with clients and agencies. The role may include relocation support and a sign-on consideration based on experience.
The candidate will oversee planning and design tasks from concept to construction, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to regulatory standards across VDOT and municipal projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum of ten years of civil/transportation/highway design experience.
- BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- PE license.
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, InRoads; strong MS Office skills.
- Solid understanding of Federal, State and local design criteria.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-modal transportation planning and design projects for clients (VDOT and municipalities).
- Review and certify engineering plans and documents to meet quality standards.
- Mentor junior staff on transportation design tasks.
- Produce and oversee construction documents, specs, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and agencies; support business development.
